Juniper & Blackberry Spice Cake – An Aphrodisiac Desert

Turn this whimsical yet simple spice cake recipe into a sophisticated explosion of taste the next time you create a dessert for your man. By studding your cake with Blackberries, Strawberries, and Raspberries, he will love it at first bite!
 
To evoke sensual delights to create the right mood for love, and to help your loved one increase his sexual pleasure, add a little Juniper Berry in there, as well.

Ingredients

1 pint blackberries
1 pint juniper berries
2  large eggs
1/3 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup whole grain pastry flour
1 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg

Directions 

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees.
  2. Pour eggs, olive oil, yogurt, and brown sugar together and stir them into a medium bowl
  3. Pour flour, ginger, baking powder, allispice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt into a large bowl
  4. Combine these mixtures together and start stirring until fully blended
  5. Add juniper berries and blackberries
  6. Pour the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 50 minutes
  7. Cool in the pan on a rack for 5 minutes and ready for serving


Comments

If any of the berries are out of season, it’s okay to use frozen ones.
Try scattering the berries on the bottom of the pan before you start baking, instead of mixing them into the cake batter; that way when you invert the cake pan, the juices will act like a glaze. Add a teaspoon of cocoa to the cake's dry ingredients for a nice chocolate touch, or use cocoa chili powder for a kiss of spiciness to the subtlety of chocolate.
 
Serve warm with a scoop of your favorite ice cream or slightly sweetened whipped cream. Top your cake with a nice Cream Cheese frosting or a deliciously sweet Vanilla glaze. If you prefer cupcakes, simply line muffin tins with muffin cup liners to make them. Your friends and family will appreciate the easy snack when they’re on the go. 
 
Since Pastry flour can be a challenge to find in grocery stores, the best bet is to make your own by sifting Cake flour and All Purpose flour together in a ratio that is somewhere between 2 parts Cake flour to 1 part All Purpose flour. Another good mix is 1 part Cake flour to 1 part All Purpose flour.
